Workers' Memorial Day 2012 - Sat 28th April. Memorial at the small memorial plaques at the back of Bradford City Hall at 12 noon. All welcome. Please rally from around 11.45. There will be a minutes silence, laying of wreaths, some words to remember the dead and fight light hell for the living and then a short piece of street theatre entitled 'Red Tape Saves Lives' . Arthur Scargill from the Socialist Labour Party and Hilda Palmer from the Hazards campaign lead a public meeting obout the death of health and safety at work, held at Bradford Central Library on the 15th of June 2011.
Workers' Memorial Day 28th April 2011
Members of Bradford Area Safety Reps Association, Trades Union members, and families and friends of local people who have died or been injured and or made ill by their work rallied together on the 28th April for International Workers Memorial Day .
There was a minutes silence and placing of wreaths and flowers followed by speeches from GMB National Safety Officer, John McClean, Construction union UCATT’ Mark Martin and Terry Britton recited an 'empty shoes' poem.
